The International Whaling Commission ( IWC )

The IWC claims that they protect all whales, but there is a certian group that is being left out. The dolphins. They are not included in this organization, so there is a whole group of whales that aren't under protection. Dolphins are whales, size doesn't matter. They are protecting a whole bunch of other whales, but what's happening to the 23 000 that are being slaughtered in Taiji? Is this problem to big for this organization to handle? What's going to happen to these animals, if they will never be under protection? I recently emailed the IWC regarding my concerns, I have yet to receive a response. I am hoping I will get an email soon. I have also emailed Marine Land. I am not expecting them to email me back. They probably don't want to answer what I have written because it's against their business, but isn't the email address for you comments and questions? I guess I'll just have to wait for the responses. I hope I get them soon.

Any way back to the focus of this post, the IWC.

In my opinion I think that it's absolutely ridiculous that dolphins aren't involved in this organization, because now it's our responsibility to make a change. Not saying I don't want to, I'm totally all for it. But if this organization has to take action, I think that a lot of things would be accomplished faster. They have a huge organization, and we're only a few people wanting to make a change. Obviously they will have a bigger impact on the slaughtering in Taiji. A huge amount of WHALES aren't being protected, and it's the IWC's job to protect them. Don't do the job if you can't do all of it. These dolphins screams are going unheard. I think it's time that you start listening.

Why Dolphin Captivity is Wrong - Please don't support places like Marine Land.

People love to watch the dolphin splashing through the tanks that they are held in. The sight of them jumping through hoops of fire and swimming with their trainers, just brings a feeling of warmth crashing down on you. A smile spread across the dolphins face, almost as if it has fun preforming in front of hundreds of people every day, the sound waves of screaming ringing through their ears every day. The truth is , that this is a living hell for a dolphin. What people don't understand is that a dolphins sense of hearing is its' strongest attribute, and when you put a dolphin in a concrete case, you're taking that away from them. It's like a human being trapped in a room full of mirrors their whole life. It eventually gets to your head. You're trapped, defenseless. Your future only holds one thing, and that is nothing. I am fighting for more then one cause, and that is what me and my friend are trying to do (Alex B.'s blog : http://www.freejapandolphins.blogspot.com/). I believe no animal is suppose to be in captivity. Dolphins travel miles upon miles every day, and being trapped in a small aquarium, is ruining their natural ways of migration. How would you like it if you were trapped in a small room without a phone or any sort of communication to the outside world, while there's a constant hum. That's what these animals are dealing with. It's time to stop, before we yet again instinct another one of natures beauties. Dolphins aren't meant to be watched through glass. They're meant to be watched sitting down on the shoreline, watching them jumping into the sunset, without a care in the world. Not starving doing tricks in front of an ignorant audience. Those places like Sea World and Marine Land, are contributing to the problem in Taiji, Japan. The only way we can stop it is if we don't visit these aquariums. Don't be a part of the slaughtering, say no to these places. Another thing I want to bring up, are these swim with the dolphins programs. A lot of people don't understand what's wrong with these, so I'll explain it to you in the simplest form. At these programs dolphins are put in shallow water, allowing people to interact with them, by petting and grabbing the dolphin. This is very stressful for dolphins. Constantly being touched while being held in captivity, when they could be swimming in the fresh ocean water. Think about people holding onto a dolphins fin, while the dolphin itself has no choice but to pull you around. It's not right. Please have some compassion and not support these hell holes. Swimming with the dolphins that look like they have smiles plastered on their faces, is one of natures biggest deceptions. Oh and if anybody who works at Marine Land, your motto is incorrect "Everybody love Marine Land, looks like you haven't met me because I absolutely hate Marine Land.

Something really really has to change, before it's to late.

To see thrashing bodies desperately trying to escape of a horror that is constantly chasing after them. But the sad thing is that there will never ever be an escape, unless we step in. These dolphins don't have a mouth that can talk, but we do. So why don't we use it to our advantage and make a change. These animals aren't capable of speaking, but you know what's truly not fair. Is that they can't speak or defend themselves, but they are the ones who are being dealt the excruciating pain. This doesn't seem fair to me. It doesn't seem fair to anything. what I found really interesting was that there was a sign stating " animal conservatory ", just before the barb wire gated fence. I don't think the definition of an animal conservatory is slaughtering and brutally killing animals...I thought they were there to be protected, not murdered. It seems that Japan trys to create the image that they are against whaling, and killing dolphins. Statues of dolphins and whales are sparingly placed everywhere throughout the small city of Taiji. I'm not trying to blame all citizens of Japan. I know that there's only a small group of people contributing to this issue, and I know that nobody in Japan knows about this. So I don't blame you. So to clear up what I'm saying, I blame the fisheries and the Japan government for keeping this HUGE issue a problem. They're totally accountable to what's happening, and if they are the leaders, then I am very scared for you Japan. There's a serious problem that isn't be taken care of, and I'm afraid of what will happen in your future if this can't be fixed. The Japanese fishermen can get all up in your face, but one day the truth will be revealed, and when that day comes I hope you are humiliated, for all that you have done. I hope you feel hell for the rest of your lives. Another thing that was quite interesting was when you are watching these "dolphin shows" you can be eating dolphin at the same time. That's interesting...It's like watching a cat show while eating cat. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? We have to save what can't save itself. It's a temporary problem, that really needs a permanent solution.
